Good morning, everybody. Let’s go for show you what I have done in 2009.

At the beginning of this year, I had to consolidate MI spec. and program source for CBH card MI migration. At the same time, I reply the queries on program logics and data refreshment.

When join BI team, my first task is LK weekly sales report conversion. I have created a prototype for SGH.

Secondly, I had to do a comparison between version2.x and version 3.

And also, provide the BI support to INM with Mimi and Andrew. That is 2.2.3 UAT and local report conversion.

Moreover, I joined the testing on AOC Sales Dashboard with Emma.

Lastly, consolidate KPIs from user comments for PFS Reporting

Okay. Let me go thru three highlighted items.

The first one is weekly sales report. LK team collects data from regional sites and summaries to generate the report. But, they would like to extract those KPIs from BIR2 directly. It leads to time saving and increases productivity. So, I have created a prototype report for this purpose. *** let me show report layout *** you can see some actual sales and Product Performance KPIs here. ….But, the system has a limitation on life insurance. It is because according to INM practice, they can entry the amount from day 1 to day 7. So, the report may not show the amount with reality. *** sharing *** thru this task I have more practice on report studio and confirmed that its work to extract weekly KPIs from canned report package BIR2PFS.

Second thing, I want to go thru is INM local report conversion for CRMS report. You can see that is similar to diagram in item 1. INM people would like to obtain CRMS report from BIR2 directly. For this purpose, guidelines and sample templates is provided for INM reference. I had fill up the sample gap analysis template with Andrew. The difficulty is to do field mapping, because some KPI did not extract by a single field. We need to find out the logic. In addition, we let INM to know the method to link with external source in report studio. *** show me show the method *** by this migration, I think it will increase the usage of BIR2. And, INM can develop the local report for site specific. And I also learned more about package Ops Comm.

Last one is INM 2.2.3 UAT. By use DB2, I compared the SQL result with pp reports. That is make sure KPIs are showing on report correctly. And, the Premier logic is a complex one. It includes the counting of joint accounts and sole accounts. *** let show show the logic and I use WITH statement to simplify DB2 scripts and hope that it will run faster) *** sharing *** from these testing, I learned that reports are running based on the parameter tables such as product dimension. So, we need to setup parameter carefully.

That’s the end of my presentation. And let me to wish you all merry Christmas.

Team Spirit

As a refreshment, I have some sharing with you about the subject matter.

Team is an organization that have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his or her strengths and minimize his or her weaknesses. Team Spirit is then about the spirit of a group that makes the members want the group to succeed.

Being a CM, your role is not only providing input but also coordinating the team to bring up the best solution for the customers. On the other hand, as a teammate, you are encouraging to pro-actively share the viewpoints and possibilities around the others to reach the best compromise. Your area of expertise and experience are definite asset of the team.

Hence, good communication and sharing are the best ways to bring up the team and maintain the team spirit. In order to motivate all the members, therefore, each meeting and discussion session should be task-oriented, constructive and respectful, polite and objective.

The above description about CM is an example only. I believe that you could do more to bring up a stronger team.

On a contrary, those behavior or attitude that deteriorating the team spirit and productivity would be absolutely NOT accepted, such as those offensive, rude and aggressive one.

Goodbye 01

Before moving on, I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thank you to all of you. Believe me, this was not an easy decision. This may sound a bit clichéd to some. The last six years with BXX undoubtedly is one of the, if not the most, high point of my career with the Group. The experience has been most memorable to say the least. There was never a dull moment. It was enjoyable most of the time and educational all the time and I owe this to all of you. The support I received from the team has been tremendous. I am particularly thankful for those who gone out of their way to help me during my personal crisis last year. I would not have pulled through without your support. One could not ask for more for colleagues like you.

Suffice to say, I am proud to be part of this great team and I will always treasure our friendship. No doubt, our path will cross and I will be looking forward for the opportunity to work with you again. Until then, I wish you all the best.

As a token of my appreciation, I would like to invite you for a few drinks this Thursday 3Nov (Friday was booked) on Level 18 at 5:30 pm. Do come early, the bar closes at 8:00 pm.

Farewell 01

It only seems like yesterday that I started my career in cards. At first it was hardsell; trying to establish a merchant acquiring business in Calcutta, when cards were not even issued. Soon I got into the thick of things - developing an application capturing system, acquiring system, collections systems and customer service system to support Cardman, which whilst inadequate helped to enrich my knowledge in cards and card processes.

HCC arrived and the face of the earth was changed ! No challenge was big enough - the design of the system kept changing to match the expectations of the business - thus changing from a small card system to one that could support half a million cards and all within a month. Regional processing became a buzz word and the system, though young changed,. yet again. HCC was soon straddling the continents from Asia, to the Middle East, UK and the US.

What a roller coaster ride and what great fun. If I had to do it all over again I would.

WHIRL poses new challenges and with gusto we take it on. Australia is just the first of many sites that we will implement this system.

I wish to thank all of you, those that I have worked directly with and those with whom I have worked indirectly; for having made my stint in cards so memorable.

In time honoured tradition, I will put my card behind the bar on L18 on Friday 21 at 6.00 pm. I would be extremely privileged if you could join me for a drink or two.
