Attended a two-day event- Reason Conference organized by Hong Kong City Church: a place that I go almost every week.
We were surrounded by music and inspiring speech during this public holiday. What will be better than sitting on the 75th floor of Central Plaza, looking at this beautiful city created by God and sitting together with a group of enthusiastic people, praising Lord for how amazing his creature is?
Pastor Caleb shared with us a very strong, yet inspiring message: to have maximum impact in your life! Sometimes we tend to stay in our comfort zone, without exploring all the possiblity insides us. I always want to help the needy in various parts of the world. Seeing the skinny, tiny bodies of the refugees makes me realize how fortunate we are to be able to stay in this prosperous land; I want to convey the message about protecting the environment, taking care of our vagile earth to the citizens here in Hong Kong; I also want to work for our next generation, tell them that their lives are blessed and they're the one who can makes this planet an even more beautiful one....
There're so many things I WANT to do, yet my ability is so small. I always wonder how can a young people who just finished her education, who is still figuring out how she should walk her road of life, can contribute that much to society? Pastor said: "If you learn to maximize you life today, you will have maximum results tomorrow." What we need to do is to STEP UP and STAND OUT! We can never underestimate our own potential. God always knows about our lives better than we do because He created us!!!
So what determines if we can have maximum impact? That's ATTITUDE! Attitude at the beginning of a task affects its outcome more than anything else. I used to be a pessimistic person, and I must confess sometimes I still am! However, as I grow up and come across all the never-ending obstacles, I start to try "fine-tuning" my mindset. There's always occasions when we feel hopeless and the world seems to be darker than any time we've been through before. What we can do it just leaving it to God, pray that He will lead us to the right direction. Apart from that, our attitude matters. After all, attitude determines our circumstances but not the other way around.
Life is tough, but we can only live once. It's not like a music performance that we can rehearse again and again until we do the best we can.
I'm just a tiny creature on earth. My impact relatively to the whole population may be insignificant, I'm still defeated by loniness, fear, hurt and lack of courage from time to time. However, I know now I should live my live with positive attitude. That's the only way I can spread my love to people around me.
